Rev. Fred Meade - Designated Term Pastor
I am a Californian native who traveled is to attend the Yale University Divinity School. I have served churches in the Northeast for 23 years and 10 years in New Orleans before I came to be the designated term pastor at the Second Congregational Church in Beverly. I enjoy all aspects of ministry including preaching, counseling and working with youth. I have a strong commandment to mission work outside the church - helping others in very practical ways. In recent years I have developed a specialized ministry to serve those who have suffered from natural disasters through the Red Cross.
I am married to my wife Julie and have four children; Josh, who is a music teacher, Jesse and Jono who are both police officers and Rachael who is a medical tech and studying to be an RN.
In general, my office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9:30 to 2:30 however each week is different. You will often find me there at other times. I am always available at other times by appointment.
Charles Turner and Nancy Rexford
They are a hunsband-and-wife team. Nancy plays the organ and piano, Charles conducts, they both sing and play bells, and always work as a team with the choir. They plan the music together, and both guide the choir with suggestions during rehearsals. Charles also plays double bass, trombone and shakuhachi (a Japanese bamboo flute).
Ms. Mary Jane Clark, Parish Administrator
Mary Jane Clark is responsible for the many groups that use the church facility. Primary focus is on keeping the operation of our church programs running smoothly by supporting the church staff and members as needed. She views her position as that of problem-solver/trouble shooter for over twenty-five years, but most important, hers is the first welcoming presence to greet visitors to the church office. When asked about her responsibilities, she good-naturedly replies that her tasks run the gamut from keeping parishioners informed through monthly newsletter or ordering maintenance supplies and everything in between. Mary Jane has been an active member of our faith community for the past fifty years!
